This three-hour Gastro Hike – beginning in Adelboden and finishing on Tschentenalp – offers the following:

Gastro Hike - a culinary journey through the best places in the region

  1. Hotel Steinmattli, Amuse Bouche 
    Experience a variety of flavours from oysters with shallot vinaigrette to sweet potato quesadilla. Accompanied by a glass of Nicolas Feuillatte Reserve Exclusive Brut.

  2. Restaurant Blausee, Cold Starter 
    Here you can enjoy pickled organic salmon trout with a honey-mustard-dill cream and fennel crispbread. This is rounded off with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc from Lucerne.

  3. The Cambrian, Pasta Speciality
    Let Bryn Williams and his team spoil your palate with this earthy, intense wild mushroom ravioli. A buttery Chardonnay Barrique from Schaffhausen harmonizes with this perfectly.

  4. The Brecon, Soup Course
    Indulge in a spicy potato velouté with Welsh rarebit crouton and honey. A powerful Heida from Valais complements this exotic creation.

  5. Hotel & Restaurant Schermtanne, Warm Starter 
    Smoked pork belly with celeriac purée or vegetarian Frutiger tofu is served on the terrace. A punchy Pinot Noir from Spiez makes the perfect accompaniment.

  6. Restaurant S-Zimmer, Main Course 
    Braised veal cheeks with chimichurri and summer truffles take centre stage at Restaurant S-Zimmer. A complex Egri Bikaver from Hungary enriches this exciting dish.

  7. Adler Adelboden, Cheese Course
    At Adler Adelboden, an artfully presented selection of cheeses with chutneys and bread awaits. A fruity Bex-Chablais AOC from the Vaud region complements these creations.

  8. Revier, Pre-Dessert 
    An airy white coffee mousse, combined with orange and Piedmont hazelnuts, makes for a delicious treat. This partners perfectly with a glass of Freisamer Château de Praz from Fribourg.

  9. Restaurant Tschentenalp, Dessert 
    The grand finale is a dessert buffet on Adelboden's local mountain to round off the Gastro Hike in style. This is served with a Malvoisie du Valais Le Primat.
