Here the mountain stream does as it pleases, here there is space for alpine fauna and flora: Just above Frutigen begins a large floodplain nature reserve called Gand. Anyone who takes this Silva Trail under their soles is rewarded shortly after with a lot of untouched nature on the banks of the Engstlige. Walkways and bridges lead you close to the wild side of the water. But it also goes higher up: From Bodmen, the trail runners' view during the return can wander over the imposing Niesen range and the picturesque landscape of Reinisch.
Public Transport
The train stops here twice an hour; many routes start here: 45 minutes from the capital, the Kandertal village serves as a regional transport hub.
Parking
On this map, drivers quickly find suitable parking options in the Oberland community. Well then: engine off, trail shoes on!
Directions
Get off and start running: After starting at Frutigen station, the route follows the Enstlige along the Künzisteg to the Gand floodplain nature reserve. After about 20 minutes, a wooden-framed granite bridge comes into view. Now a short climb leads up to Bodmen, where trail runners can briefly enjoy the view. Have you gathered strength for the way back? In Reinisch, the trail turns via Büela back towards Frutigen.
