At the bus stop "Chäli" - directly before the bridge - the hiking trail goes into the forest. Following the Engstlige and passing the Chälistein, you come to the imposing lower Engstligen Falls. Back in the forest you pass a fireplace and then reach the restaurant Bergbach and the valley station of the cable car. Along the parking lot you get back to your starting point.
Approach
From Bern, follow the A6 motorway in the direction of Thun/Interlaken. Take the "Spiez" exit and follow the signs to Frutigen and Adelboden. At the roundabout at the entrance to the village, take the second exit and continue until you reach Unter dem Birg.
Public transport
By train to Frutigen, then continue by bus to the bus stop Adelboden, Unter dem Birg (change at Adelboden, Oey).
Parking
There are sufficient free parking spaces at Unter dem Birg. The cable car station and hiking trails to the waterfall and to Engstligenalp are in the immediate vicinity.

Equipment
Path / terrain
Well-constructed footpath. Where possible, all exposed areas are made secure with fixed cables, railings, etc. The risk of falling can largely be ruled out with normal behaviour.
Requirements
None; also possible in trainers. Orientation without any problems, usually also possible without a map.
