Exceptionally beautiful high-altitude hike with deep views into the Üschenetal, Spittelmatte, and over the Daubensee towards Valais.

From the Sunnbüel mountain station, follow the mountain path towards Gällihore (the 20-minute ascent to the Gällihore summit is very rewarding). From the ridge saddle, the actual high path begins, leading below the Üschenegrat to the Wyssi Flue and to the Schwarzgrätli. Descent to the Schwarenbach hotel (Gemmi path) continuing to the mountain station of the cable car.

Approach

By car via Frutigen or the car shuttle train from Goppenstein to Kandersteg

Public Transport

South of the Lötschberg, north of the Kandertal: a train station between Brig (38 min) and Bern (61 min) with hourly service – an ideal base for many excursions.

An AFA bus runs every hour and takes 10 minutes from Kandersteg station to the valley station of the cable car. From there, the gondola comfortably continues to 1936 m above sea level.
