Along the way, runners travel through the alpine landscape of the Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site and enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding peaks, glaciers, and valleys.

Safety Instructions
The section across the Lötschen Pass leads through high-alpine terrain and requires sure-footedness, good physical condition, and alpine experience. Sudden weather changes, fog, or remaining snowfields can occur even in summer. Checking the current weather conditions and carrying appropriate equipment are strongly recommended.
Even officially open hiking trails may still be partially covered with snow. All routes are undertaken at your own risk: Tourism Adelboden-Lenk-Kandersteg accepts no liability for the use of local routes.

Tips
Anyone exploring the route outside of race day should start early and allow enough time for the high-alpine passage across the Lötschen Pass. Particularly impressive are the sweeping views over the Kandertal and toward the Valais region. The route is ideally suited as a demanding training trail in preparation for the race.
Along the way, the route can be shortened at the Steinbock bus stop in the Gasterntal, with a return connection to Kandersteg. Alternatively, an overnight stay at the Lötschen Pass Hut is a great option for experiencing the high-alpine mountain landscape even more intensely.
