The section over the Lötschen Pass passes through high alpine terrain and requires surefootedness, good fitness, and alpine experience. Weather changes, fog, or remaining snowfields can also occur in summer. A current weather check and suitable equipment are strictly recommended.
Even open hiking trails can still be partially covered with snow. The hike is at your own risk: Tourism Adelboden-Lenk-Kandersteg assumes no liability when using local routes.

Tips
Those exploring the route outside of the race should start early and allow enough time for the high alpine passage over the Lötschen Pass. Particularly impressive are the wide views over the Kander Valley and towards Valais. The route is excellent as a challenging training route for preparation.
Along the way, the route can be shortened at the Steinbock bus stop in the Gasterntal, with a return trip to Kandersteg. Alternatively, an overnight stay at the Lötschen Pass hut is also possible to experience the high alpine mountain world even more intensively.
