From the station, follow route 56 with beautiful views over the Kandertal and to the trains of the Lötschberg railway, which run through the Kandertal like a model railway. Due to the incline, the railway makes two large loops around the old Felsenburg castle ruin.
Over varied paths, short forest and pasture sections, you reach Schlafegg, Under Geerene, and Chüeweid. Descent via Ramslauenen into the Kiental, one of the large side valleys of the Kandertal located amidst an intact, natural, and cultural landscape.
There are descent options along the way to the bus stops Blausee-Mitholz and Kandergrund as well as the train stations Frutigen and Reichenbach.
Approach
By car via Frutigen or by car train from Goppenstein to Kandersteg.
Public Transport
South of the Lötschberg, north of the Kandertal: for this station between Brig (38 min) and Bern (61 min) there is an hourly service – an ideal base for many excursions.

The destination is fixed, and so is the parking spot – on this map, drivers quickly and easily find the suitable parking options in the Oberland community. So then: engine off, hiking boots on!
