Just below the Wallbach adventure pool, the trail gently ascends and descends towards Lenk-Boden, passing the tree-lined Simme. From Lenk-Boden, cross-country skiers can expect a fast and straight section of about one kilometer. It continues with slight ups and downs towards Matten. Ambitious skiers especially appreciate the well over two kilometers long, straight "race track" over the former military airfield St. Stephan. From the Rieder timber yard, winding paths lead through wooded sections and continue to Hotel Diana. Across an open field, you reach the village of Blankenburg with its castle of the same name. Equally impressive are the old wooden houses with their magnificent facade paintings, evidencing traditional carpentry skills and lining the route to the finish in Zweisimmen. By the way: Those who ski the trail in the opposite direction have the sun shining in their face — with magnificent views towards Wildstrubel.
