From the starting point at the Muggeseeli information point, the legendary ascent through the "Wildi" district soon awaits, but don't worry, you will be rewarded directly with the descent to the Catholic church. Passing the valley station of the Oeschinensee cable car, the second descent follows immediately, with the option of shortening the route at the end of the descent on the left or following the original route on the right. The original route leads along the sunniest ascent to the Nordic Arena ski jumping stadium.

Approach

By car via Spiez - Frutigen or by car train from Goppenstein to Kandersteg.

Public transport

South of the Lötschberg, north of the Kander Valley. For this point between Brig (38 min.) and Bern (61 min.), an hourly train service is in operation – this is an ideal meeting point for many tours.

Parking

Parking list Kandersteg

The destination has been decided, and so has the parking space - on this map, drivers can quickly and easily find the right parking option in the Oberland municipality. Well then: engine off, cross-country skis on!

Safety instructions

Please note that you are basically on your own responsibility! The cross-country skiing association does not maintain its own rescue system and does not make a final slope check, as is usual in alpine skiing areas. Please also note the SOS information signs as well as the board of rules of conduct at the cross-country skiing centre.

Equipment

Hat, gloves, sunglasses: reliable equipment is especially important on winter trails. What dresses best? Ask our specialists in the numerous sports shops in the destination.

Tips

Whether with the classic technique or skating: cross-country skiing is healthy and fun!
