The route starts immediately with the main ascent (900 m) to Bühlberg and continues over a very steep alpine road to Hahnenmoos. From the highest point of the route, it goes along an asphalt path to Adelboden. From here, the "old road" climbs about 160 m before the valley descends to leave towards Frutigen. The bike path continues to Wimmis and over numerous asphalt and good gravel roads, flat or slightly rising, through the Simmental back to Lenk.
