Lots of ups and downs and plenty to discover: this spectacular route showcases every facet of the Alpine world. Starting in the village of Adelboden, the trail first heads towards Ausserschwand via the Panorama Run Hörnli, before continuing in a large figure-eight loop that includes climbs to the Hahnenmoospass, Höchstgrat and Laueli.

Approach

Highway A6 Bern-Spiez, main road towards Frutigen-Adelboden to the Fuhrenweidli parking lot (valley station Sillerenbahn).

At the roundabout at the entrance to Adelboden, take the third exit, follow the road for about 200 m, then leave the road and go straight ahead directly to the parking lot on the left towards the valley station Sillerenbühl.

Public Transport

By train to Frutigen and from there by bus to the Adelboden Mineralquelle stop, which is near the valley station Sillerenbühl.

Parking

Parking at Fuhrenweidli (Silleren cable car valley station), CHF 5 per day.

Directions

The route starts in Adelboden-Oey and initially follows well-runnable paths along the Panorama Run Hörnli. This is followed by varied trail sections with narrow high-altitude paths, technical passages and longer climbs up to Sillerenbühl. Via the Hahnenmoospass, the route continues past the Rägeboldshorn and over the Nassberg up to Höchstgrat. An demanding downhill then leads to the roaring Engstligen Falls before the trail climbs again towards Rasplatz and Laueli. Finally, an varied downhill section leads down to Boden and back to the finish in Adelboden-Oey.

Safety Instructions

Parts of the route lead through alpine terrain and require good physical condition as well as sure-footedness. Especially in wet conditions, roots, rocks and steeper sections can become slippery.

Weather conditions in the mountains can change rapidly at any time. Before starting, check the weather forecast and trail conditions, and avoid the tour in case of thunderstorms or heavy rain. Mobile phone reception may be limited on some sections of the route.
