Tips

This high-altitude trail can ideally be integrated as a day stage into a two-day tour. The Elsigenalp "alternative" to the Via Alpina from Kandersteg to Adelboden. However, this route by no means needs to hide behind the big name. The route from Kandersteg up to the Golitschenpass is challenging and partly steep, but the panorama into the Kandertal compensates for every drop of sweat. The route slows down, and if you're looking for a path away from tourist crowds, this is the right one. (→ Via Alpina - Stage 14)

From the Golitschenpass, you'll subsequently enjoy a magnificent view of the Kander and Engstligental, and Elsigenalp invites you to linger, where you can also enjoy a fine dinner and comfortably spend the night at the Berghaus Elsigenalp. The next day, you'll embark on the high-altitude trail from Elsigenalp to Adelboden.
