Those looking for a Swiss picture-book world are exactly right on the Via Alpina. In 20 daily stages, it leads once across the northern Alps, along many highlights of Switzerland. From picturesque Kandersteg, this stage goes up to the steep rock faces of the Lohners. Further to the Bundnerchrinde, with its unique rock formation whose ascent is a real adventure.
Those who look closely can see daring ibexes jumping around carefree. Before climbing the Bunderchrinde, take-away drinks can be purchased in the alpine hut at Alpschelen (only during the summer grazing period of the animals, early July to the end of August). Once at the top, you can look down into the valley towards Adelboden – the destination of this stage.
