Sibe Brünne / Siebenbrunnen

"Sibe Brünne" - the source of the river Simme, which gives the valley its name, is located on the Rezliberg above Lenk, directly at the foot of a mighty limestone wall.

There the Simme comes to the surface in white foam. In summer, up to 2,800 litres per second flow through the seven springs. The "Sibe Brünne", a magical waterfall, is a designated source of power and a beautiful place to linger.

The source of the Simme (Sibe Brünne, Siebenbrünnen, Siebenbrunnen or also called source of the Simme) with seven main branches gushes out of a mighty limestone wall and is fed by the meltwater from the glacier that is located between the mountains Wildstrubel and Rohrbachstein. The water flushes out from seven springs on the alp Rezliberg as a 30-meter-wide waterfall. After 50 kilometres through the Simmental, at Wimmis the Simme flows into the Kander. This in turn flows into Lake Thun.

From "Sibe Brünne" (seven fountains) came the name "Sibne" and later Simme, for the river and the Simmental of the same name.
