Culture - Pelzmartiga
25/12/2024 - 01/01/2025
Programm
Even in pre-Christian times, the Germanic tribes and Celts had customs that took place around the longest night from 21 to 22 December. In the nights that followed until New Year, entire ethnic groups endeavoured to promote the forces of good and drive away the forces of fear through various forms of expression.
The Pelzmartige people mingle with the winter visitors and frighten passers-by with chain rattles and bells, with which they literally make a ‘pagan noise’.
