Breathe in, breathe out – and off you go. The village loop leads through quiet neighbourhoods and along pleasant paths around the village. An ideal route for a short, relaxed jog in nature.
Approach
By car via Spiez - Frutigen or by car train from Goppenstein to Kandersteg.
Public Transport
South of the Lötschberg, north of the Kander Valley. For this point between Brig (38 min.) and Bern (61 min.), an hourly train service is in operation – this is an ideal meeting point for many tours.
Parking
The destination has been decided, and so has the parking space - on this map, drivers can quickly and easily find the right parking option in the Oberland municipality. Well then: engine off, running shoes on!
Directions
Starting from the Reformed Church in Kandersteg, follow Dorfstrasse southwards to the entrance of the campsite near the Scout Centre. Continue through the railway underpass to Eggenschwand and follow the signpost towards Ueschinental.
Once you reach the paved road, turn right and follow it downhill to the Kandersteg hiking signpost. Via Bütschels, the route then climbs up towards Höh. From there, the path leads back to the village via Öschigässli.
Safety Instructions
The more extreme the conditions, the more important your equipment. Longer mountain tours, for example, require weatherproof clothing and a small running backpack with food.
