Cycle route through the Simmental valley (Lenk – Zweisimmen – Spiez)

This cycle route takes you along the villages of the Simmental valley, to BBQ areas and past some of the beautiful Simmental houses of the Hausweg. The route is flattish from Lenk to Zweisimmen and even though the difference in elevation from Zweisimmen to Spiez is 600 m downhill, there are still a couple of short climbs to contend with. A wonderful way to cycle through the Simmental valley at your leisure.

The sections from Lenk to the Simmen Falls and from Lenk to Zweisimmen are also easy to negotiate with a bicycle trailer in tow. The Zweisimmen to Boltigen section likewise, although part of it is along the main road without a cycle lane.
Stage 3 of National Cycle Route 9 (Lakes Route) takes you through the Simmental valley. From Zweisimmen to Spiez you will find yourself cycling along this route, following the red cycle route signs for Lakes Route 9. The section from Lenk to Zweisimmen is also signposted with red cycle route signs.

The tour itself does not pose any technical challenges.
