Where once the local governors watched over the Kandertal Valley, trail runners now leave their footprints. This varied loop combines nature, history, and movement in a truly rewarding way.
Starting from Frutigen railway station, the route heads through Reinisch towards Hostalde. Before long, forest paths, gravel roads, and flowing single trails alternate to create an enjoyable and varied run. The first highlight is the Hostalde Suspension Bridge, which spans high above the valley and offers a spectacular change of perspective.
The trail then gradually climbs towards Kanderspitz along scenic paths, rewarding runners with beautiful views over Frutigen and the surrounding mountain landscape. On the return leg, another highlight awaits: the historic ruins of Tellenburg Castle.
With its unique blend of historic landmarks, diverse trails, and stunning panoramic views, this loop offers an unforgettable trail running experience in the Frutigland region.
