It's like being in an alpine fantasy world. On this trail, runners follow moss-covered forest paths and take gently sweeping curves in their stride. Against the flow of the babbling mountain stream, this loop leads to the thundering Engstlige waterfall – and the 600 m / 1969 ft. high natural spectacle alone is worth the journey. Add to this a rustic, covered wooden bridge and the wild mountain landscape, and you have a true Adelboden classic among tours.

Public Transport

Arrival by bus in Adelboden

The bus station in the village centre connects the whole Engstlige Valley. This tranquil mountain village is only 90 minutes away from the nation's capital city, Berne.

Directions

Always upstream. Beginning in Adelboden Oey, this trail follows the River Engstlige past rustic wooden chalets and farms. Halfway along the route, a stop at the Engstlige Waterfall is an absolute must. There is a bench close by which offers breathtaking views of this natural spectacle. With the force of nature spurring you on, continue along the trail. A well-maintained hiking trail leads you out of the forest again.
