Lynx Trail - Sharp observation
Did you know that the lynx can jump over 5 meters? That and much more about the behavior of the big cat, its lifestyle, and the environment it lives in, you will learn on this exciting trail. The hike begins at the mountain station Leiterli of the Betelberg cable car. On a good, mostly gently descending natural road, you walk past the well-known Hasler bog. Just follow the lynx or fox tracks. Where might the animals be hiding? Along the trail are life-sized models of lynxes, but also of their prey animals such as deer and chamois. Because lynxes are extremely shy and cautious animals, one should not expect to encounter real lynxes. For this, the trail operators have put even more effort into the trail stations. These combine playful elements and art: wooden play stations delight the children during the hike. Past the artworks you come to the fireplace. Treat yourself to a break here and practice your long jump. Can you jump as far as the lynx? Before you reach the trail's endpoint at the Wallegg restaurant, the wooden sculptures by the Brienz woodcarving workshop invite you to admire them. From the restaurant, you can either walk directly or take a detour through the Wallbach gorge back to the valley station of the cable car.
