The ride on the state-of-the-art 10-person gondola Stand-Xpress from the valley floor up to the Metschstand is like a panorama show with breathtaking mountain scenery. Crystal clear air at 2100 m above sea level, the Plaine Morte glacier towards Valais is almost at eye level. The approximately 80-minute circular hike can be rated as easy and above all varied despite the elevation meters. Around the Metschstand, leisure hikers enjoy panoramic views and colorful meadows and pastures. Depending on the sunshine, the reservoir lake glows in Caribbean turquoise!
The path initially leads away from the mountain station of the Stand-Xpress to the Bummerepass. Here the municipal border between Lenk and Adelboden is crossed. On one side, there is a view down into the Ammerte, on the other, the view over the Engstligental towards Adelboden. The trail passes the Blatti hut, where a cozy bench with the sculpture of the famous Vogellisi can also be found.
The Caribbean-like reservoir lake in the Brenggen meadows then draws all attention. The view over the green upper Simmental is particularly charming. It is worth making a short detour to the Hahnenmoospass afterwards, where the eponymous mountain restaurant pampers its guests. On the way back, the trail passes directly by the Brenggen reservoir lake before looping back via Schattwy towards Metsch. On the last section, the elevation meters lost on the descent are climbed back up until the endpoint of the circular route is reached at the mountain station of the Stand-Xpress.
Those who like it fast can then add a mountain-cart ride: The safe and comfortable ride with the mountain cart wonderfully completes the mountain experience. Mountain-cart route: Mountain station Metschstand to the middle station Metsch.

Tips
The Metschstand is a popular launch site for paragliders. The launch site is located immediately at the mountain station and the landing site is likewise right at the valley station. It is therefore worth planning some time in good flying weather to watch the paragliders taking off from the terrace of the Standhütte hut.
