In collaboration with the Swiss Heart Foundation and Loipen Schweiz, a "Herzloipe" will be signposted in Lenk from winter 23/24. The 3.4 km long circular route is mostly flat and is particularly suitable for cross-country skiing beginners and anyone who wants to do something for their heart health. From the Nordic Centre Lenk at the valley station of the Metsch cable car, the route leads along the flat valley floor over fields into the valley through the wintry Simmental landscape. Directly in front is the spectacular end of the valley and the Wildstrubel massif. Halfway to the Simmen Falls, the trail branches off to the left at the crossroads and continues gently downhill back to the starting point.
The Swiss Heart Foundation is committed to prevention, education and research into cardiovascular diseases and stroke. The foundation offers cardiovascular patients and healthy people advice and comprehensive information. Info on the Swiss Heart Foundation.
