The Adelboden "Chuenisbärgli" is the ultimate giant slalom slope and is considered the most feared World Cup run in the world. The cross-country ski trail starts off below the legendary slope where the FIS Ski World Cup has taken place every year since 1967. With views of the Lohner, Wildstrubel and Fitzer, the trail first heads southwards for about one kilometre until you reach a bridge. Here the trail crosses the Engstligbach. Passing some farms and large timbered houses, you now follow the trail northwards in several loops until you reach the Hotel Alpina. Cross the road in a large right loop to get to the turning point between two hills. Heading south again, the trail will take on a slight to medium climb with several downhill runs to reach its highest point at the Unterbirg trail junction. We continue straight on here. After a rapid descent with a few bends, you will be taken along the bridge that crosses the Engstligenbach again. On the left side of the valley, two further short climbs and easy descents will then take you back to the starting point.

Our recommendation: For less athletically-inclined skiers there is the option to bypass the two loops which are marked as difficult by continuing straight ahead.
