The cable car takes you comfortably up to Elsigenalp. From around 1,800 metres, the trail follows the western slopes of Elsighorn. Along the way, enjoy impressive views of the Frutigtal and Kandertal valleys before descending steadily towards Frutigen.
Approach
From Frutigen, follow the road towards Adelboden to Achseten. Parking is available near the Elsigenalp cable car valley station.
Public Transport
Arrival:
By BLS to Frutigen, then by bus towards Adelboden to Kirche Achseten, bus to Elsigbach, then by aerial cableway to Elsigenalp. The bus ride Achseten – Elsigbach requires a reservation.

Parking
Parking is available near the Elsigenalp cable car valley station.
Directions
From the Elsigenalp mountain station, follow the marked hiking trail towards Obere Achsetberg. The panoramic trail continues downhill via Reinisch towards Frutigen. At Trute, a picnic area with a fire pit is ideal for a break.
Safety Instructions
The route follows mountain and natural trails, including some steep sections. Trails can be slippery when wet. Check the weather and trail conditions before setting off.
Equipment
Good hiking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, sun protection, hiking poles and sufficient food and water.
Tips
A detour to the idyllic Elsigseelein mountain lake is well worthwhile. The lake can be reached from the Elsigenalp mountain station in around 30 minutes.
