The short circular route passes by the Catholic church into the Wildi in the Oeschiwald. Follow the markings through the forest. At the base station of the Oeschinen gondola, walk through the Oeschigässli heading north and over Nidermatti back to the train station. Enjoy the snow-covered winter landscape in one of the sunniest areas in Kandersteg. Benches invite you to linger.

Approach

By car via Spiez - Frutigen or the car train from Goppenstein to Kandersteg.

Public Transport

South of the Lötschberg, north of the Kandertal: For this train station between Brig (38 min) and Bern (61 min), there is an hourly schedule – an ideal base for many excursions.
