A coffee in the mountain restaurant on the Iffigenalp or do you lace up your trail running shoes and set off straight away? A short stop for refreshments is tempting, but the trail up to the Iffigsee and on over the technical hanging jump is of course also tempting...

First you head deeper into the wild and romantic Iffig valley and then uphill. And suddenly it lies at your feet, the Iffigsee. The path leads along the green side of the lake, slightly elevated. The other side is the one with stones and scree. The trail continues uphill through mountain meadows to the highest point of the tour. There is a very short flat section here, but before that it is worth taking a break and looking back at the panorama of Lake Iffig. For technicians, the next treat is the stony terrain down the Hängstesprung. Once you've mastered this section, you're ready for a high-altitude trail in a class of its own. The trail leads 5.5 kilometers with slight ups and downs to the Betelberg through open terrain with far-reaching views of the surrounding Simmental mountains. Shortly before the mountain station, at Alp Steistoos and Leiterli, there is another opportunity to stop for refreshments. The Betelberg gondola lift then takes you back down to the valley.

Please note theLenk-Iffigenalp bus timetable and the operating times of the Betelberg cable car.
