First, we take the Betelberg gondola lift up 850 meters to 1946 m above sea level. The Leiterli is the starting point for various hikes. On the first section, the hiking trail leads us towards the unique Gryden and then continues almost at altitude to the Tungelpass. Here we move through farmed alpine pastures and you may come across a few cows along the way. From the Tungelpass, the trail climbs steeply up through stony terrain via the most difficult passage, the Hengstensprung. A short section here is secured with a fixed rope. This section is recommended for experienced hikers. On the other side of the Hengstensprung, the descent to Iffigsee is gentler and greener again.

Once you reach the Iffigsee, there are many beautiful places to linger by the mountain lake and in the Gelten-Iffigen nature reserve. The route continues downhill to Groppi. With the rocky flanks of the Mittaghorn to your right and the Hohberg to your left, you hike the last section through the Iffigtal valley back to Iffigenalp. There, the Berghaus Iffigenalp is an excellent place for a snack.

Afterwards, take the bus or walk back to the village of Lenk.
