After Kiental, the trail first climbs steeply into the long valley of Spiggengrund. The path then climbs steeply and leads past waterfalls to Hohkien. From there, the trail climbs steeply southwards across meadows to a rocky ridge. This is overcome with the help of wire ropes. Then over karst to another plain and from there up to the stony desert below Rote Härd. Cross this to Pt. 2683 and then ascend along the ridge to the saddle, which is actually a summit. Now comes the technical passage over the wild ridge to the Schilthorn.
