This route offers impressive views into the Kander Valley.
From the station head north following the Blausee signpost. Before the railway underpass, turn right over the small bridge to Dorfstrasse. The path initially follows the road and then ascends to the Lötschberg Panorama Trail. The trail partly runs along the tracks but also high above the railway. At the Felsenburg ruins, descend to the Blausee.
Return from Blausee by bus or hike along the nature trail (across the pedestrian bridge at Blausee) back to Kandersteg.
Approach
By car via Frutigen or the car train from Goppenstein to Kandersteg.
Public Transport
South of the Lötschberg, north of the Kander Valley: This station between Brig (38 mins) and Bern (61 mins) runs hourly – an ideal base for many excursions.
Parking
The destination is set, and so is the parking spot – this map helps drivers quickly and easily find a suitable parking option in the Oberland community. Well then: Engine off, hiking boots on!
