From the Berghotel Oeschinensee, a simple footpath leads along the shore to a special winter natural spectacle: Even at freezing temperatures, a little brook plunges down the rock face there. At the bottom, the water instantly freezes and thus forms an ice tower that over time can grow to several meters high.
Approach
By car via Spiez - Frutigen or by car train from Goppenstein to Kandersteg.
Public Transport
South of the Lötschberg, north of the Kander valley: For this train station between Brig (38 min.) and Bern (61 min.) there is an hourly service – an ideal base for many excursions.
