One of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges in Europe can be found right here in Frutigen! This adventurous hike along the river bank from Rohrbach to Frutigen, which includes crossing the suspension bridge on foot, is an unforgettable experience.Natural playgrounds and barbecue sites invite you to make a day of this wonderful hike along the Engstlige river – a protected area of national importance.After you have walked across one of the longest suspension bridges in Europe, you will certainly have earned some refreshment at the nearby “Brücken-Beizli”. This is an excursion to make an impression on everyone!

From Frutigen via Adelbodenstrasse to Hohstalden.

Public Transport

  • Bus from Frutigen train station (direction Adelboden) to "Hostalden"
  • On foot from Frutigen (in the direction of Rohrbach) on the Engstligen riverside path, walking time: 5/4 hours.
  • Bus from Adelboden train station (direction Frutigen) to "Hostalden"
