From Kandersteg via Höh over Golitschenalp to the Golitschen Pass. Make the descent to Elsigenalp to Achseten and the main street. Return by bus to Kandersteg. Alternative route: Take the cable car from Elsigenalp mountain station to Elsigbach base station.

Duration: Kandersteg - Golitschenpass: 3 hours
Kandersteg - Golitschenpass - Elsigenalp: 3 3/4 hours
Kandersteg - Golitschenpass - Elsigenalp - Achseten: 5 1/2 hours

Return trip: By bus to Kandersteg

Gastronomy: Golitschenalp (drinks only), Elsigenalp, Elsigbach

Alternative route: Continue the ascent to First and the descent to Allmenalp (5 1/2 hours)

Approach

By car via Spiez - Frutigen or by car train from Goppenstein to Kandersteg.

Public Transport

The Lötschberg to the south, the Kandertal to the north: this station between Brig (38 min.) and Berne (61 min.) has an hourly service - an ideal base for many excursions.

Parking

The destination has been decided, as has the parking space - on this map, drivers can quickly and easily find a suitable parking space in the Oberland municipality. Well then: engine off, hiking boots on!
