Approach
By car via Frutigen to Adelboden, then continue to Unter dem Birg (Engstligenalp valley station).
Public Transport
From the bus station to the waterfall: Only 18 minutes travel time separate the two AFA stations «Post» in the village center and «Unter dem Birg». At the foot of the steep rock faces, mountain lovers then take the cable car to the high plateau.
Parking
Parking is available at the Unter dem Birg valley station.
Directions
Start at the Unter dem Birg valley station. From here, follow the path toward Engstligenalp along the roaring waterfalls that plunge around 600 meters into the depths. The trail quickly becomes steep, climbing in switchbacks over narrow, sometimes stair-like sections. In the upper part, the terrain levels out. Crossing alpine meadows, you reach Engstligenalp at around 2,000 meters.
Safety Instructions
The more extreme the conditions, the more important the equipment. Longer routes in the mountains require, for example, weatherproof clothing and a small running backpack with food.
