Demanding, but rewarding can be characterized this four-hour mountain trail. The view of the Bernese Alps from the First compensates experienced hikers in every respect.
Approach
Leave the A6 / A8 freeway at the Spiez exit in the direction of "Kandersteg / Autoverlad". Continue towards Reichenbach and Frutigen. In Frutigen leave the bypass via the exit "Frutigen Süd" in the direction of Adelboden until you reach Achseten. Follow the sign "Elsigbach" in Achseten and turn left immediately after the second bridge to Elsigbach.
Parking
Free parking at the valley station of the Elsigenalp cable car.
Safety instructions
The last, challenging section of the trail to First is secured with a wire rope. Only suitable for surefooted people. Not recommended in bad weather or snow.
