We follow the wild river Kander from Frutigen over the Blausee to Kandersteg and further up along the Kander Falls through the Chluse gorge to the Gasterntal. Partly along the Kander, the trail leads to Selden at 1537 m. Take your time and discover the true treasures of this wild high valley, which is also part of the UNESCO World Heritage.

Timetable

Return journey by bus from Selden Gasterntal by train from Kandersteg to Frutigen or by e-bike.

From June to October there is a bus service from Kandersteg railway station to Gasterntal Selden. You can find the timetable at Kander-Reisen. GA/half-fare/guest card is not valid. Booking is compulsory; only by telephone: 033 671 11 71.

You can park at the railway station or at the market square, which is located in the centre of the village.

Safety instructions

Steep gradient between Kandersteg and Kandergrund on a rough dirt road. Cyclists do not need to buy a ticket to Gasterntal, but must keep to the regular timetable. Please note that there is often a considerable amount of dust from cars and buses on the gravel road.
