From Kandersteg railway station follow the signs to Oeschinensee. Continue along the mountain route towards Under and Oberbärgli to Hohtürli / Blüemlis mountain hut. Blüemlisalp mountain hut is located five minutes walk above Hohtürli, the pass crossing between Kandersteg and Kiental, at 2,840 m. The stunning view and amazing sunsets make an overnight stop at Blüemlisalp mountain hut a truly special experience. The mountain hut is the starting point for Alpine tours in the Blüemlisalp mountain range as well as various longer hiking trails leading to the Blüemlisalp mountain hut. Below the mountain hut and at the Blüemlisalp glacier there is a well designed climbing wall. Blüemlisalp mountain hut is in the UNESCO World Heritage region of Jungfrau - Aletsch.There is a steep descent from the mountain hut back to Hohtürli and over the wooden steps (safety ropes) as far as Wart. From here the route is less steep to Bundläger, Bundalp and Griesalp.

Alternative route:Use Kandersteg - Oeschinensee cable car. The hiking route can also be followed from Kiental to Kandersteg.

Approach

By car via Spiez - Frutigen or by car train from Goppenstein to Kandersteg.

Public Transport

Arrival at Kandersteg train station

South of the Lötschberg, north of the Kander Valley. For this point between Brig (38 min.) and Bern (61 min.), an hourly train service is in operation – this is an ideal meeting point for many tours.

The valley station of the Oeschinen cable car is a 10 minute walk away.

Return journey: from Griesalp by bus, from Reichenbach by train.
