From Kandersteg, the Sunnbüel cable car takes you up to the winter hiking paradise. You can reach the cable car from Kanderseg in a half-hour hike or comfortably by local bus. Enjoy the newly laid out and well prepared circular hiking trail Altelsblick. From the starting point at the Sunnbüel mountain station, the trail leads towards Spittelmatti, always towards the sun.

Important note: Before embarking on this high alpine hike, please first check the local conditions (avalanche danger).

Approach

By car via Spiez - Frutigen or by car train from Goppenstein to Kandersteg.

Public transport

To the south the Lötschberg, to the north the Kandertal: For this station between Brig (38 min.) and Bern (61 min.) there is an hourly service - an ideal base for many excursions.

The AFA bus runs every hour within 10 minutes from Kandersteg station to the valley station of the cable car. The gondola then takes you comfortably up to 1936 m above sea level.
