Gentian, Alpine roses, and Edelweiss.
When the snowmelt has freed the mountain meadows again and the floral display shines in full splendor, it is a delight to follow the colorful bordered hiking trail. On the back of the Hoberg, a rarity of Alpine flora delights us: the Edelweiss. The protected flower has found favor on the Hoberg and grows here in great numbers. Before descending to Lake Iffig, enjoy the view from Iffighore. The lake is a popular fishing lake in summer and winter and is great for a cooling swim in high summer. The lake is fed for a long time by snowfields above and remains cold. From the lake on, the landscape gradually changes and takes on a high mountain character. Grass yields to stones and vegetation becomes scarcer.
Highlights:
- Iffigenalp offers an unforgettable breakfast buffet on some Sundays (reservation required)
- Search for – and find – Edelweiss
- Fishing (license available at Iffigenalp) or a swim in Lake Iffig
