Good shoes and warm clothes ready? Then head off on the lantern trail!
The starting point for this romantic evening walk is the bus stop in Ausserschwand, which can also be reached on foot in just 20 minutes from the village. Then follow Holzachseggenweg to the junction with Zwischenpörternweg, where the first of more than 100 lights can already be seen. After 45 idyllic minutes, the illuminated route ends at Margeliweg.
The path then climbs back up to the village via Schulgässli. Buses can also be taken back to the centre from the Margeli or Oey stops.
Public transport
Up to the alp or down to Frutigen? The bus station in the village center links the Engstli Valley during the day and with the Moonliner also at night. And the mountain village is only 90 minutes away from the capital.
