Stations of this easy hiking route include the Ausserschwand schoolhouse as well as the woodcarver Trummer. The artist's home is reached in a little over an hour. Return trip by bus from Achseten Tregel.

Hike from the Post downhill via Schmitte- and Chlyne Grabe onto the valley terrace of Ausserschwand up to the schoolhouse. From here, gently ascending to the resting places of Bütschegge. Wonderful views of the Niesen range, the entire Engstlig valley, and the area of Aeschi and Beatenberg on Lake Thun. The small road continues through the Tschentental at the foot of the wild Gsür. Shortly after Bütschegge, there is a junction to Egereschwand, with connections to the Choleren Gorge and the Pochtenkessel.
