The Schwandfälspitz can be reached in just 15 minutes from the top station of the Tschentenalp cable car. From here, hikers can enjoy spectacular views of the Bernese Alps. The hike then continues along the ridge to the entrance to the deep ravines on the south side of the Gsür (the second highest peak in the Niesen range), before reaching the very isolated but magnificent Furggi mountain pasture (2091 m). From here begins a steep descent (around 900 m ascent), followed by a gentle return to the village of Adelboden via Schermtanne.

To Adelboden by car via Bern – Thun – Spiez – Frutigen.

Bus to Adelboden

By train to Frutigen and from there by bus to the stop Adelboden, Post.

Sufficient parking spaces are available in parking garage Adelboden.

T3+ – Difficult Mountain Hiking

Path/terrain

Path not always obvious/visible. The more exposed areas can be secured. You may need your hands for balance. Some exposed areas remain, where there is a risk of falling. Pathless sections over scree or talus.If marked according to SWW standards: White-red-white.

Requirements

Good balance and surefootedness. Mid/high top hiking boots are recommended. Average orientation skills. Basic alpine experience.
