UNESCO World Heritage Trail – Bench No. 8: Kandersteg’s Precious Waters
With climate change and melting glaciers, water volumes are at risk of decreasing in the long term, particularly in summer. Many small streams merge into picturesque lakes: alongside the famous Lake Oeschinen are the beautiful Arveseeli on the Spittelmatte, the Tälliseewli above Inner Üschine, and the Muggeseeli at your feet. The Muggeseeli provides an important habitat for flora and fauna and is designated a municipal nature reserve.
