Spiggen
The late great Res von Känel had studied these walls for years and finally together in 2000 with Brecht Wandfluh, they equipped and free climbed the 150m long “Sirup” on the Southwest Face of the Glütschstock. Recognizing the potential for the area, Res then began work on Lauchereflue where the lower part of the wall is steep and pumpy, whereas, up higher the climber finds one’s self in technical cruxes on more compact rock. With more traffic, these climbs will clean up more and improve with age!
