Train/Postbus

Griesalp is easily reached by post bus from Reichenbach in the Kandertal valley. The Lötschberger, a train composition of the BLS, guarantees the connection to the post bus, which runs every two hours and first travels via Scharnachtal to Kiental. The road then leads through the rear Kiental valley to Tschingel, where the steepest postal bus route in Europe begins at 28%. This route winds up over two kilometres over steep serpentines before the postal bus arrives at its destination, in front of our hotel doors. The Postbus runs from May to October.

In winter we recommend travelling by train to Reichenbach. From there we organise the transport to Griesalp by taxi exclusively for our guests.

Our snowmobiles can only pick you up from the Tschingel car park to Griesalp until 18. 00 hrs.
Please let us know the type of transport you require up to 24 hours before arrival.

By car

Take the A6 in the direction of Thun / Spiez, then take the autobahn in the direction of Frutigen / Kandersteg. In the village centre of Reichenbach, exactly at the level of the railway station, the road turns left through the picturesque village centre of Reichenbach onto the well-developed road to Kiental. Always following the signpost to Griesalp, the road leads through untouched groves, meadows and forests of the rear Kiental valley to the picturesque Schwemmsee lake at Tschingel. From there a narrow, adventurous, but well paved road leads steeply (28%) through gorges and forests and ends right at the front door of our hotels, where you can park your car free of charge on our parking lot.

In winter the road to Kiental is black, to Tschingel white cleared and ends there. With snowmobiles of our hotels we lead you into warm blankets and skins packed by an enchanting winter landscape. The pick-up with our snowmobiles from the Tschingel car park to Griesalp can always be arranged on the hour with advance notice. The latest pick-up at the Tschingel car park is 18. 00 hrs.
