5 hours, 13.6 kilometers and over 600 meters of ascent and descent each: this water trail is quite demanding. But the untouched beauty of the back Kiental richly rewards hikers. The adventure begins after the village at the bus stop «Junction Spiggengrund». On the following loop through the valley basin, you are surrounded by numerous waterfalls. At the Spiggen gorge, sure-footedness is required on the way towards Kiental village – here the rope-secured hiking trail (T3) is exposed. As an alternative, the easier return route to the starting point at the bus stop is available.

Safety Instructions

Even open hiking trails can still be partly covered with snow. Walking is at your own risk: Tourism Adelboden-Lenk-Kandersteg assumes no liability for the use of local routes.

Equipment

In the partly exposed terrain of this red-white marked route, sure-footed hikers with good trekking shoes feel at home.

In Steinwengi, you can enjoy a break both by the wild bank of the Spiggenbach and at the adjoining fire pit. Firewood is scarce here, however: visitors should therefore bring their own.
